An anthology series collection of stories based on the queer experience in South Korea. Please note: This submission is for those who have lived in South Korea or have lived in South Korea previously. It is a special project to highlight the queer abroad experience.

How to submit? You can do so one of two ways:

Here is the guideline for email submission:

Step One: Create your story and prepare your manuscript to submit. Currently this is an open submission. We will announce the submission close date at a later time. 

 

Step Two: Email Red Mars Publishing at contact@redmarspublishing.com

with your submission and information. Please include the following:

• Name (How you would like to be addressed as an author.)

• Pronouns

• Current residing city

• Short description of your submission or Query Letter

• Attached manuscript as one document

 

We would also like this information as well, but this is completely optional:

• Sexuality

• Age

• Birthday

 

Manuscript Guidelines:

• File Name: Rainbow Series.Name.Title

• Font: Arial, Courier New, or Times New Roman

• Size: 10~12 pt.

• Google doc and Word doc preferred but .rtf files also accepted

 

Step three: A confirmation we have received your entry will be emailed to you. Please add contact@redmarspublishing.com so communication does not go to spam or junk mail. We are reviewing on a rolling basis at this time.

Rights and compensation:

Originals only, no reprints. We will purchase first publishing rights for inclusion in this anthology (ebook and print) and three years of exclusivity at the time of the publishing agreement. Authors retain the copyrights to their own pieces. Red Mars Publishing will have rights to the anthology as a whole.

Payment: $0.05/per word*

Payment date: Publishing date - TBD

Bonus structure I: Within the first three years, 10% of net profit sales will be shared equally among all contributors after the 1000th physical copy sale.

Bonus structure II: Within the first three years, 20% of net profit will be shared equally among all contributors after the 5000th physical copy sale. (This will be profits based on sales 1001-5000.)

Additional: All contributors will receive their own contributor copy.

 

*The minimum word count is 3,000 words. The maximum word count is 5,000 words.

General Guidelines for Submissions:
3,000 words minimum and 5,000 words maximum. Submissions above the maximum will not receive additional pay. Those who do not meet the word count minimum as a published peice are not eligible for the Bonus structures I and II. 

 

Do send:

Short stories, Fiction, poetry, plays and scripts, songs, speeches, memoirs, and personal essays.

Don’t send:

Reprinted work of any kind. Fanfic of any kind. Plagiarized work of any kind (please refer to this academic guidance page for what we consider plagiarism).
