The Role of A.I. in the Future of Writing

If you are a writer or creator of any type, it would be impossible to miss the sweeping sensation of A.I. and its effect on the literary world. With just a few clicks and a short prompt, anyone can access an endless collection of words to create anything they want.

We live in a fast-paced world that is looking for the most efficient and inexpensive ways to communicate with target audiences and with each other. Currently, A.I. has already had a huge impact on helping businesses generate content in line with the latest trends within minutes. It can translate pages of documents into almost any language, and even create personalized and engaged content. It can also create TikTok ideas, Youtube video outlines, short scripting, and so much more. At the moment, there are too many complex natures to human communication for A.I. to write things like screenplays and books to completion but soon—with the fast collection of data around the world—A.I. programs will have no limit to what they can do.

However, we as creatives still have the opportunity to adapt to these changes and use them to our advantage.

1. We can use A.I.-powered writing tools to improve our writing quickly and adeptly. While this doesn’t replace the personal touch of an editor who can help you improve flow and voice or do line-by-line editing, it's an easy and free solution to help develop our skills faster to become overall better writers grammatically.

2. Instead of spending hours looking for different writing prompts to give you writing practice or help get the juices flowing, you can easily ask an A.I. program for them in whatever genre or medium you are looking to practice. Solutions in mere moments.

3. A.I. is also easily able to assist in research–whether looking to sharpen the imagery of a snow-capped mountain scene or give synonyms to words to create a more eclectic vocabulary.

Additionally, some A.I. programs will learn the user's preferences, voice, and writing patterns in order to create a more tailor-made solution as you continue to use it. It’s hard to know at this moment how much A.I. will affect writers in the future, but in the meantime, we can use it to our advantage to improve ourselves and create a loyal fanbase to help protect our creative minds and stories that we want to share.
