Spring Reads: A Caribbean Heiress in Paris

Picture this. You're having a lazy day, basking in the afternoon sunlight, your windows ajar. The bees are buzzing, birds are singing and the dreaded hay fever is kicking in. (tissue at the ready) You curl up on your couch, ready to dive into another book that will ease you into the warmth of spring. ‘A Caribbean Heiress in Paris’ Adriana Herera’s latest book, is the historical romance that we’ve been waiting for!

Set in the 1800s, it follows the story of Luz Alana, a Dominican heiress, who sets off on a voyage from Santo Domingo with her two best friends and a business plan to expand her family’s rum business. She tells herself that under no circumstances is she to fall in love. Upon her arrival in Paris, it would seem that buyers and shippers do not want to do business with a woman…a woman of color at that. Her promise to avoid love seems quite easy at this point.

However, that doesn’t last for long as in comes our suave hunk, James Evanson Sinclair. As an Earl of Darnick, who built his own whisky brand, his passion for his work is clear and admirable. He has his own worries and troubles especially when it comes to the dealings of his father’s dirty money and even more so, his dirtier dealings.

The meeting between these two could be described as nothing other than literal temptation. Luz Alana is in conflict with herself as she tries to understand why this charming Scottish man is willing to help her. Whilst, for Evanson, the days he spends with Luz Alana make him long for more than her zealous kisses or the marriage of convenience that might save them both. When Luz Alana sailed for Paris prepared to build her business and her future, what she wasn’t prepared for was love to find her or to suddenly be thrust into a marriage of convenience.

This will be Adriana Herrara’s first historical romance novel, and the first of her Las Leonas series (The Lioness). It is expected to be a hit in the community as critics have been singing Herrara’s latest book with praises, stating:

“Richly detailed, vividly depicted, and sweepingly romantic, A Caribbean Heiress in Paris is an enchanting and unforgettable story filled with an amazing cast of characters readers will love. A gorgeous novel!”—Chanel Cleeton, New York Times bestselling author of Our Last Days in Barcelona

“It is sensual, feisty, and every bit the feminist voice needed in a historical novel”—Helen Hoang, New York Times best-selling author of “The Kiss Quotient”. It is sassy, steamy, and full of thought-provoking situations that will leave you intrigued and wondering what will happen next in this series. A Caribbean Heiress in Paris is available to purchase from May 21st, and you can preorder now on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Available formats are Kindle, paperback, hardcover, audiobook, and audio CD. We would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section, once you’ve had a chance to read this masterpiece.
